ADT's Modern Security Features
ADT is the world's oldest company in the security industry, and 147 years of experience means you can trust their systems to be highly reliable. That doesn't mean the service is stuck in a time warp though; their modern options include smart home integrations, video options and even contract-free self-monitoring.
When a sensor is triggered, the system will send a signal to an ADT monitoring center and dispatch the appropriate authorities to your location. This is an important feature that will make your life much easier if anything happens to you or your family adt alarm system.
You can control your system from a keychain remote or
via the ADT mobile app, and you can also customize the alarm settings for
different types of events. These features help prevent false alarms and give
you a greater level of control over your system, which is great for peace of
mind.
The alarm will activate when someone breaks into your
home, or if a door or window is opened while the system is armed. It will then
communicate with your monitoring station through a cellular connection, which
helps the ADT monitoring team keep an eye on your property.
In the event of a power outage, your ADT control panel
will still work thanks to its backup battery. It's a good idea to charge your
battery frequently, so it will be ready for the next time you need it.
ADT also offers a two-way voice feature, which allows
you to talk with an ADT representative from up to 75 feet away. This feature is
particularly helpful in a natural disaster, when landlines might be down or
jammed.
These features aren't included in every package, so
you'll want to shop around for a plan that includes them. They're a great
investment, and they'll add a layer of protection to your home.
Wireless door/window sensors: These small devices are
recessed in the doors and windows to help protect your home against burglary,
vandalism, and fires. They're programmable, so you can set up alerts for
specific times of the day or night.
Motion-activated cameras: ADT offers indoor and
outdoor cameras that have HD images and two-way audio. These can be installed
in strategic locations around your home, including bedrooms and bathrooms.
You can use these cameras to check in with your kids
when they get home from school, warn people who are trying to break into your
house, or see what's going on in the backyard. They'll alert you when they're
detected, and ADT will store video footage for up to 30 days in case you need
it.
ADT has a wide variety of packages to choose from, all
backed by the security monitoring services of nine interconnected monitoring
centers. These plans range from a basic starter system in the Secure package to
more comprehensive options with video and smart home automation in the Complete
package.
ADT's monthly cost depends on which package you
choose, but it's a good value for your money when you consider the quality of
its equipment and the level of customer service it offers. It's a bit pricey
for an entry-level system, but if you can afford it and you're looking for
reliable, professional monitoring, ADT is a solid choice.
