Passport Requirements in Indonesia
If you’re planning a trip to Indonesia, you’ll need to obtain a passport that meets certain requirements. These rules change from time to time, so check with your local embassy or consulate to find out what you need to bring and how long it will take for your passport to be ready.
Passport Requirements
The passport you bring with you should be valid for at least six months from the date of your arrival and include an onward ticket. Your passport should also contain a valid travel vaccine or other travel medicine to protect you against diseases that are common in Indonesia perpanjangan paspor.
Make sure your
passport is in good condition and does not have any tears or water damage. If
you have a damaged passport, it can be difficult to enter or exit the country.
In one case, an Australian tourist was detained at Ngurah Rai International
Airport on the island of Bali after a passport that was not in pristine
condition was seized.
Indonesia has strict
requirements for passports and can fine airlines up to $5,000 if they allow
passengers with a faulty passport to travel. Likewise, visitors who are found
to have violated Indonesian immigration or visa laws could face serious
penalties, including a prison sentence and substantial fines.
Passport
Requirements: What You Need
For all foreigners
who are not from a visa-exempt jurisdiction, you will need to apply for a visa
before your travels to Indonesia. There are a number of visa types available,
depending on your needs and circumstances.
Visitor’s visa
The Visitor’s visa
allows you to stay in Indonesia for up to 30 days. This is a great option for
people who are travelling to Indonesia on business, visiting friends or family,
or for short vacations.
If you want to stay
longer than this, you will need to obtain a multiple-entry visa. This type of
visa is issued in the embassy or consulate. It must be applied for in advance
and you must meet the following mandatory requirements: Application/Guarantee
Letter, passport with minimum 18 months validity, copy of bank accounts,
return/through tickets and re-entry permit ( or stateless /non-nationality
person).
Whether you apply
online or in person at an embassy or consulate, you’ll need a pre-paid, stamped
and self-addressed envelope to mail your documents to the Embassy/Consulate.
This will allow the embassy to mail you back your documents and your passport,
should your application be successful.
Business Visa Cover
Letter
If you’re travelling
for business purposes, you’ll need a letter from your employer confirming that
you will be attending meetings and conducting activities during your stay in
Indonesia. The letter should be on the company’s letterhead and must list the
full address and phone number of your employer.
You’ll also need to
include a recent photo that meets Indonesian visa photo requirements and is in
a passport-size format. It must be a color photo and should be taken no more
than two weeks before your trip to Indonesia.
